Workshop Details

Through education, discussion, and movement, this 3-hour workshop is designed to give you the tools to put your mind at ease during labor, delivery, and postpartum. The workshop is led by Molly Flohr, a Senior Pilates Educator and certified Pre and Postnatal Corrective Exercise Specialist (PCES), and Chelsea McMann, a Registered Nurse.

Chelsea will provide guidance on:

  • Labor and Delivery

    Understanding what to expect during labor and childbirth can significantly reduce anxiety and fear associated with the unknown. Chelsea will review stages of labor/birth, pain management, and techniques for labor, to help you approach childbirth with greater calmness and confidence.

  • Postpartum Prep

According to a recent survey (by Lansinoh), 88% of moms said they “weren't prepared for the postpartum period”, and over 95% of moms say said that “new mothers are not sufficiently supported by our society”. Chelsea will address the areas moms report being most unprepared; including, breastfeeding, mental health, lack of sleep, and physical recovery. 

  • Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding education before delivery gives moms the education, knowledge, and confidence associated with breastfeeding success. Chelsea will share breastfeeding techniques and prepare you for the early days of newborn care.

Molly will guide you through a movement practice to help you connect to muscles that support your organs and the baby during delivery and that are critical for postpartum healing. You will learn:

  • how to move safely throughout pregnancy

  • ways to use muscles for healthy labor

  • how to move after delivery to promote healing

Meet your teachers

Molly Flohr

Molly is a Senior Pilates Educator at Humani Pilates, and a certified Pre and Postnatal Corrective Exercise Specialist (PCES). She provides opportunities for pregnant people to explore their bodies in a new way — through breathwork, pelvic floor activation, and movement designed to guide people safely through pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum.

Chelsea Mcmann

Chelsea is Registered Nurse with a Masters Degree in Nursing, and experience in Child Development and Lactation Counseling, as well as the owner The Mama Coach, Sacramento. With a mission to bridge the gap in evidence-based education and assistance for expecting and postpartum mothers, The Mama Coach is dedicated to making the journey into parenthood smoother and more manageable. Chelsea offers personalized education and support tailored to parents from pregnancy to potty training.

As a mother of two herself, she understands firsthand the joys and challenges of parenthood.
